8. The revenue derived from the registration of trade marks showed an increase over that for the preceding year, although a smaller number of certificates was granted. This is accounted for by the fact that a larger number of existing registrations was renewed:

9. Three applications for registration were opposed during the year. In one case judgment was given in favour of the opponents. The other two oppositions are still pending.
