173. Surfacing of Lin Ma Hang-Sha Tau Kok Road.-A surface of 4" macadam, tar-painted, was laid on the hilly portions of this road.

MISCELLANEOUS.

174. Un Loong Nullah and Improvements.—This contract comprised the construction of a cement concrete invert to the existing nullah. The contract was awarded to Messrs. Pang Loong & Co. on 1st December, 1932 for a sum of $2,460.00. Good progress was made.

175. New Telephone Switchboard for Taipo Police Station.-- A 50 line switchboard was installed.

176. Road Conditioning at Sha Tau Kok.-In addition to general patching, resurfacing was undertaken between Fanling and Kwanti Race Course. An additional layer of 4" macadam was laid and tar-painted, and a decomposed granite track formed for ponies.

177. Wiring of Government Buildings, New Territories.- Taipo, District Officer's Quarters, Land Office and Bailiff's Quarters; Shatin, Taipo, Sheung Shui, Tsun Wan and Au Tau Police Stations, and Bungalow were wired completely for fans, lights and bells.

178. One coal burning Crematorium of two Chambers.—This work consists of the erection of a two furnace Crematorium with mortuary, fuel store and staff quarters at Kai Lung Wan Cemetery. A Contract was let to Messrs. Sang Lee & Co. for $8,700.00 on 19th December, 1932, and preliminary work on the site was commenced.

179. Garage at Arbuthnot Road.--This work was referred to in paragraph 209 of last year's Report. The building was satisfactorily completed and occupied in January.
