167. School at Un Loong. This work was reported complete in paragraph 254 of last year's report. Expenditure during 1932 was for the payment of retention money.

GENERAL WORKS.
169. Roads.—The undermentioned roads were kerbed, channelled, and surfaced and footpaths and scavenging lanes paved with granolithic paving, and the necessary improvement made in front of new buildings erected during the year: —Main Street, Un Loong; Yau Hing Street, Nam Shing Street, and Wai Yau Street all at Taipo Market.

170. Drainage:-(a) Training Nullahs -A short length of the stream course south east of the level crossing near Island House, Taipo, was trained, and minor anti-malarial works were carried out in the same district.

(b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works. The outfall of the storm water drain in On Fu Road, Taipo Market, was extended fifty feet, and works of a minor nature were carried out.

171. Miscellaneous.-The following work was executed under this head:-Sheung Shui Police Station-new flagstaff Tsun Wan Police Station-new flagstaff.

172. Water Works.-Apart from the local purchase of a centrifugal pump for Shing Mun capable of delivering 350 gallons per minute against 50 feet head, only minor works were carried out.
