NIGHTSOIL REMOVAL

10. Contracts for three years from 1st January were signed for the removal of nightsoil from Aberdeen, Pokfulam and Aplichau and for the removal of nightsoil from Stanley and Taitam. For the former contract a sum of $420.00 per annum goes to revenue and for the latter an annual payment of $420.00 is paid by the Government for the service.

The contractors for the removal of nightsoil from Victoria and the Kowloon Peninsula, Shaukiwan, Aberdeen, Pokfulam and Aplichau, and Stanley and Taitam respectively carried out their work satisfactorily.

DISINFECTION AT DISINFECTING STATIONS.

11. Table V shows the number of articles and vehicles disinfected during the year 1932. The figures for 1931 are given for comparison. The use of portable 'Sack' disinfectors has been continued.

DEAD BOXES AND AMBULANCES.

12. Dead Boxes are obtainable at any hour of the day or night at the two Disinfecting Stations and also by day at the Eastern and Western District Sanitary Offices.

13. The Department maintains a reserve of hand ambulances on behalf of the Public Ambulance Service controlled by the Inspector-General of Police.

14. Table VI shows calls made during the year.

PUBLIC BATH HOUSES.

15. Table VII shows the number of men, women and children who used the Bath-Houses during the years 1931 and 1932.

CEMETERIES, MORTUARIES, CREMATORIA.

16. Table VIII (1) shows the number of interments at the various cemeteries during the year 1932.

17. Table VIII (ii) shows the number of general exhumations carried out at the public expense, and Table VIII (iii) shows the number of exhumations carried out by relatives of the deceased.

18. Table VIII (iv) gives particulars of cremations, bodies deposited in the Tung Wah Hospital Mortuary, and removals from the Colony before burial.
