GENERAL WORKS.
223. Roads.-The undermentioned roads were kerbed and channelled, the footpaths being paved with granolithic paving slabs, and the necessary improvements made in front of new buildings erected during the year:-Argyle Street, Austin Road, Bute Street, Boundary Street, Baker Street, Canton Road, Cox's Road, Chatham Road, Cedar Street, Duke Street, Fuk Tsun Street, Gascoigne Road, Hankow Road, Ho Man Tin Road, Jordan Road, Ki Lung Street, Knight Street, Kowloon City Road, Larch Street, Lai Chi Kok Road, Lok Shan Road, Mody Road, Mong Kok Road, Ma Tau Wei Road, Nathan Road, Nullah Street, Oak Street, Pitt Street, Portland Street, Prince Edward Road, Poplar Street, Pau Chung Street, Pak Tai Street, Shanghai Street, Soares Street, Tong Mi Road, Tai Nam Street, To Kwa Wan Road, Tam Kung Road, Waterloo Road.

224. Drainage :-(a) Training Nullahs.-Minor works were carried out departmentally.

225. (b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works.-A total length of 12,682 feet of sewage and storm water drains varying from 6" to 66" in diameter were laid during the year, principally in Mong Kok, Ma Tau Wei, To Kwa Wan and Prince Edward Road. The number of drain connections made was 508. Many new gullies with flat gully gratings were constructed and connected to the stormwater drainage system.

226. Miscellaneous.-The erection of two Covered Ways at Kowloon Point, and a few minor works were carried out.
