6-CHINESE DELIVERY SECTION.

During the year this section handled 3,325,199 ordinary letters, 228,681 other articles and 8,890 Postal Hong packets as against 2,959,793 ordinary letters, 199,673 other articles and 8,347 Postal Hong packets in 1928.

The registered articles delivered amounted to 241,329 of which 123,120 were from the United States and Canada, and 118,209 from China and other countries shewing an increase of 22,066 as compared with 219,263 in 1928.

The total number of Chinese private boxes for which licences were issued during the year was 312, a decrease of 9 as compared with 321 in 1928.

The licences of 27 Chinese Postal Hongs were renewed, the same number as in 1928.
