167. Miscellaneous.-Kowloon City Old Police Station- Necessary shoring and underpinning was done to ensure the safety of the verandahs until the building is demolished.

168. Waterworks.-The following works were carried out under this heading:-

(a.) The surfacing of the approach road to Kowloon Reservoir, referred to in last year's Report, was completed.

(b.) 400 cubic yards of filtering Sand were supplied to the Filter Beds.

(c.) A 2" main was laid to Sha Po Village to replace the old well supply which had become contaminated.

169. Port Works. The only expenditure under this head was in connection with investigations to ascertain the nature of the foundations on the new site selected for the Shamshuipo Ferry Pier.

Communications:

170. Waterloo Road Extension to foothills (100 feet wide). This work was referred to in paragraph 153 (b) of the Report for 1926 and 153 (a) of that of last year.

The earthwork necessary for the construction of this road was completed by the middle of the year. It was not deemed advisable to proceed with the surfacing.
