STAFF.
At Kennedy Town Senior Inspector W. Old was in charge throughout the year.
Inspector Charity continued on duty until the expiry of his agreement on 21/7/28.
Inspector Braley continued throughout the year,
Inspector F. Aslett was in charge at Ma Tau Kok throughout the year.
Overseer Johannsen was in charge at Central and Western Markets.
GENERAL STATISTICS.
The increase in the amount of work done although not so marked as in the previous year is satisfactory. The resultant increase in revenue over 1927 is $23,364.60.
Cattle-The total number of cattle admitted to Depots during 1928 was 60,518 against 59,767 in 1927. In Ma Tau Kok 11,579 were admitted against 9,064 in 1927. The above are the only abattoirs at which cattle are slaughtered in the Colony.
Pigs:-The total number of pigs admitted to Kennedy Town was 823,647 against 275,132 in 1927. This includes 19,211 admitted to Kennedy Town and afterwards transferred or exported. The total number admitted at Ma Tau Kok was 103,638.
Sheep and Goats:-45,225 was the total number admitted at Kennedy Town against 24,922 in 1927. As in the case of pigs this includes 12,400 admitted to Kennedy Town and afterwards transferred or exported.
