175. Proposed New Officers' Quarters at Queen's Gardens. -Further sketch plans were prepared for the utilization of a portion only of the site for Government Quarters leaving a large area available for other purposes. The scheme comprised the erection of a block of twenty-four flats of four rooms each. Allusion to this was made in paragraph 184 of last year's Report.
176. New Reception Block; Victoria Gaol.—Sketch plans and working drawings were prepared for a new Reception Block on the site of the existing building. The building planned is of two storeys, and provides, on the Ground Floor, Reception and Registration Room, Baths, Dressing Boxes, and Disinfecting Rooms; and on the First Floor, Visiting Boxes, Prisoners' Clothes Store, two Solicitors' Rooms, and a Photograph Room.
177. Erection of new No. 8 Police Station.--This work was referred to in paragraph 181 of last year's Report.
A sketch plan was prepared for a block of buildings upon a site in Blake Gardens.
178. Conversion of the Belilios Reformatory into a Female Prison.-Several sketch plans were prepared for additions and alterations to the existing building with a view to its conversion into a Female Prison.
179. New Gaol and Police Training School. This work was referred to in paragraph 151 of last year's Report.
A block sketch plan showing a possible lay-out for a Gaol and Police Training School at a site near Aberdeen was prepared.
Sketch plans were also prepared for a Police Training School on the site of the old Military Sanitarium at The Peak. The surrounding area was surveyed, and preliminary plans were prepared showing a general development of the district.
180. Cadets' Quarters, Canton.-This work was referred to in paragraph 112 of last year's Report.
The building was completed in March, but owing to the unsettled conditions prevailing during the year it has not been occupied.
