The quantity of water stored in the impounding reservoirs on 1st January amounted to 406.45 million gallons and it reached a minimum on the 29th March with 213.42 million gallons. The reservoir was at or above its permanent overflow level from 25th May to 16th October on various dates. The quantity of water remaining in the reservoirs at the end of the year amounted to 403.47 million gallons.
The analyses made by the Government Analyst and the examinations by the Bacteriologist were satisfactory.
The various buildings were kept in a good state of repair during the year. There were 1,937 meters in use at the close of the year, an increase of 374 as compared with 1926. House services were constructed, altered or repaired in 617 instances and 28 supplies were laid on for building purposes.
The quantity of water supplied by meters was as follows:-

Estimates, Sup. Votes, $5,000.00 $20,000.00 Expenditure, $25,000.00 $24,988.6973. Maintenance of Praya Wall and Piers. The Praya Wall and Piers were generally maintained in a good condition. The principal items were general repairs to Saigon Street Refuse Pier, Mong Kok Pier and Hung Hom Pier at a cost of $1,553.19, $1,374.60, and $406.34 respectively. Repairs were also effected to Waterloo Road, Yau Ma Ti Ferry, and Tsim Sha Tsui Piers.
