218. Filling in large area at Kowloon City.-This work was referred to in paragraphs 244 of the Report for 1923 and 238 of that for last year.
The progress made during the year was as good as could be expected, 81,250 c. yds being deposited and 200,000 sq. ft. of land formed to new levels.

219. Telephone Cable between Kowloon and Fanling.-This work was commenced on 5th March, 1925. A cable 10 miles in length from Fanling to a point about 2 miles North of Shatin Railway Station has been laid and is working satisfactorily. A further length of 9 miles to Kowloon will be laid in due course. When the scheme is completed the cable will replace the existing aerial telegraph and telephone lines along the Railway.
