177. General Works.-The following is a brief statement of the principal works carried out under this heading:
The undermentioned roads were macadamized, kerbed, & channelled, the footpaths being paved with granolithic slabs and necessary improvements made in front of new buildings erected during the year: —
Jordan Road,

Saigon Street,
Waiching Street,
Battery Street,
Nanking Street, Shanghai Street,
Kwong Wa Street, Woosung Street, Pitt Street, Coronation Road, Laichikok Road,
(Portion between Boundary Street and Shanghai Street), Granville Road,
New Market Site (Argyle Street to Canton Road),
Portland Street, Shantung Street, Temple Street, Public Square Street, Bulkeley Street, Kowloon City Road,
Argyle Street,
Dundas Street,
Ningpo Street,
Reclamation Street, Parkes Street,
Two New Streets between Fife Street and Argyle Street,
New Street between Nelson and Shantung Streets.
Canton Road, Saigon Street, Battery Street, Shanghai Street, Woosung Street, and Reclamation Street were also raised to the approved levels.

178. Training Nullahs:-
(a). Mongkoktsui Nullah East, Extension through Railway Bridge. This work was referred to in paragraphs 174 (a) of the Report for 1923 and 182 (a) of that for last year.
Good progress was made during the year. Walling and invert for the whole length, and decking for the portion of the road under the Railway Bridge, were well advanced by the end of the year.
