was convicted and sentenced to 9 years H. L. on 2 counts (A) Breach of Arms Ordinance and (B) Breach of Deportation Ordinance.
Detective L. S. C. 166 Kwan Hing Nam was commended by the Capt. Supt. of Police and granted a reward of $50.00 for zeal and energy displayed in securing information which led to the arrest and conviction of 3 men, who had violently assaulted and robbed Mrs. Deacon on Broadwood Road on 4.10.24. At the November Sessions 1924 the defendants were convicted on 2 charges of Robbery and sentenced to 15 years H. L. each.
I. P. C. B. 262 Sanda Singh was commended by the Capt. Supt. of Police and granted a reward of $10.00 for bravery shown in rescuing from the Harbour a Chinese woman who attempted to commit suicide on 17.2.25.
L. S. A. 119 McFadgean, I. P. C. B. 219 Abdullah, P. C. C. 144 Cheng Kam Kwan and P. C. C. 584 Tse Ping were commended by the Capt. Supt. of Police for good work in controlling and assisting an audience of about 1,500 to escape from a fire which occurred during a performance at a Theatre Matshed at Chatham Road on 13.3.25. Their prompt action in keeping the panic-stricken people under control undoubtedly prevented a number of casualties.
Sub Inspector Stimson and Detective P. C. C. 609 Yeung Ching were commended by the Capt. Supt. of Police for zeal and diligence in securing the arrest and conviction of 2 men for assisting in the management of an Unlawful Society and of 6 men for being members of an Unlawful Society at Castle Peak on 4.5.25. These officers effected a raid on a matshed at midnight on the 3rd when a Triad meeting was in progress.
L. S. C. 558 Chan Pui, P. C. C. 11 Lam Chi Ming and P. C. 219 Kwong Heung were granted a reward of $25 each for their initiative and zeal in securing the arrest and conviction of 2 men who had committed an armed robbery at 40 Lower Lascar Row on 7.2.25. Both defendants were convicted and sentenced, one to 7 years H. L. and 20 strokes with the cat and the other to 5 years H. L.
P. S. A. 46 Fender and Detective C. C. 377 Tang Chau were commended by the Capt. Supt. of Police for zeal and diligence in investigations whereby 4 Chinese were arrested and charged with having committed a Highway Robbery on 11.4.25. The defendants were at the Supreme Court May Sessions sentenced to 7 years H. L. each. Police Court Case No. 6709.

P. C. C. 323 Chak Fuk was commended by the Capt. Supt. of Police for alertness and vigilance on searching duty in effecting the arrest of a man in possession of one pistol and 99 rounds of ammunition.
