Weather Telegrams by Radio.--The following table gives the monthly number of ships from which radio meteorological messages have been received, and the number of messages received (each arrival and departure is counted separately) :

This is disappointing and difficult to explain. A Notice to Mariners giving particulars of what information is required is handed to masters of vessels by the Harbour Department. Copies are also sent to the shipping companies for distribution to their Captains and supplies are sent to the Master Attendant, Singapore, who has kindly consented to furnish copies to north-bound ships.
