24. The Out-stations attached to the Harbour Department continued to perform the work allotted to them and during the year Licences, etc., were issued by them as follows:

13.-Lighthouses and Signal Stations.

GAP ROCK LIGHTHOUSE.

25. During 1925 a total number of 1,678 vessels were signalled and reported including 315 by Flash lamp.

2,618 messages, including meteorological observations for the Observatory, were sent by telegraph, and 87 by wireless, 134 messages were received by telegraph and 169 by wireless including weather reports.

Telegraphic communication was interrupted for 37 hours.

There were 75 hours and 25 minutes of fog, and fog signals were fired 473 times.

The fortnightly reliefs were delayed 3 times owing to bad weather.

WAGLAN LIGHTHOUSE.

26. During 1925, 3,335 vessels were signalled and reported including 819 by Flash lamp.

3,935 messages including meteorological observations for the Royal Observatory were sent and 946 were received and 167 messages were sent by wireless and 149 received.

Telegraphic communication was interrupted for 6 hours 39 minutes.

There were 485 hours 25 minutes fog and fog signals were fired 6,079 times.
