236. Erection of a new Beacon Light at Cheung Chau Island.— A contract for the erection of a new reinforced concrete beacon light was let. It was erected, and handed over in running order during the year.
This light substituted the iron framed structure which was damaged during the typhoon of August, 1923.

217. Main Road crossing the Railway under the Bridge North-west of Tai Po Market.—Improvement. —This main road was improved by its realignment near the approach to the railway bridge at Tai Po Market. The work was completed during the year.

233. Filling in large area near Kowloon City.—This work was referred to in paragraph 244 of last year's Report.
The progress made during the year was satisfactory. 96,300 c. yds. was cut and 220,000 sq. ft. of land formed to new levels.
At the close of the year the work was well advanced.

239. Harbour Development.—The report of the work done by the Harbour Works Department for the year 1924 is given in Annexe L, and this will be the last occasion for its inclusion in this report.

240. Bathing Facilities.—These were provided at Kennedy Town, North Point, and Stonecutters Island as in former years. The additional beach at the Railway Compound, Hunghom, referred to paragraph 246 of last year's Report, was not provided again as the use thereof did not justify it.
Three rafts together with the necessary attendants were provided at Repulse Bay.
The cost, inclusive of watchmen's wages, etc., was defrayed from Class I, Item 10, Miscellaneous Services, and amounted to $9,297.53.
