At the end of the year, it was approaching completion.

198 Block House for Police, Castle Peak.—This work was referred to in paragraph 194 of last year's Report.
The progress was not at all satisfactory owing to sickness amongst the labourers and also to the dilatoriness of the Contractors.
An extension was made to the contract so as to proceed with the erection of a set of Native Quarters on the South-East side of the Block House.
At the close of the year, the Block House was finished and the work on the Native Quarters referred to above well in hand.

Taipo Market Trough Closet.—This work was referred to in paragraph 195 of last year's Report.
Upon tenders being called again for this work, more reasonable prices were obtained, and these were under consideration at the end of the year.
No expenditure in connection with this work was incurred during the year.
