A range of thirty-four buildings each of two floors, covering an area of about 500 × 200 ft. (used as shops, stores, and dwellings) and contents severely damaged by fire, heat, smoke, water and breakage. 7th August 20.37 First Street, West Point Charcoal merchant. Male: 3 13th Sept. 04.45 Whitfield Road, Causeway Bay. Electric Company. Male: 1 A building of one floor, about 165×85 ft. (used as machine room, workshops, office and stores) and contents severely damaged by fire, heat, smoke and water and roof off. Female: Basement (used as godown) and contents damaged by explosion, fire, heat, smoke and water, and about 4×2 ft. of concrete floor over by cutting away. Two firemen severely burned on face, neck and hands, 1 Police Inspector and 11 firemen by partial suffocation.
