This decrease in vessels and tonnage is due to a number of Foreign trading Junks being laid up or trading in the Waters of the Colony owing to the unsettled state on the Canton and West Rivers.
In Local trade (i.e. between places within the waters of the Colony) there is an increase in Steam Launches of 65,990 and an increase in tonnage of 1,173,588 tons or 10.3 per cent. in numbers and ... per cent. in tonnage.
