Two new sorting tables each containing sorting accommodation for four sorters were fitted up in this Section during the year for the sorting of Chinese Correspondence. These tables have proved entirely satisfactory.
7. SHEUNG WAN DISTRICT BRANCH POST OFFICE.
During the year 945,972 ordinary letters, 2,640 other articles and 3,530 registered articles were despatched to Canton Chinese Post Office as compared with 978,834 ordinary letters, 4,320 other articles and 4,013 registered articles in 1915. 1,306,671 ordinary letters, 7,452 other articles and 5,849 registered articles were received from Canton as compared with 1,092,075 letters, 5,950 other articles and 4,429 registered articles in the previous year. The other direct mails despatched from this Branch and received there are as follows:-
