4. 140 Juveniles were admitted during the year. corporal punishment was awarded. Of these 23 were sentenced to be whipped forthwith and discharged, and the remaining 37, in addition to whipping, received sentences varying from 24 hours detention to 12 months hard labour.
5. The percentage of convicted prisoners admitted to prison with previous convictions recorded against them was 13.2 as compared with 11.5 for 1915.
