152. New Law Courts.--As the Contractor for the Superstructure and Fittings represented that he had been greatly underpaid for some of the work executed by him and as the Executive Engineer in charge of the work represented that the Contractor had already been overpaid, arrangements were made whereby the matter was referred to the arbitration of Major Wenborn, R.E. Staff. As the result of his investigations, Major Wenborn awarded the Contractor the sum of $16,505.00. The balance of the expenditure was for Major Wenborn's fee as Arbitrator ($2,000.00) and for the final payment of fees due to the Consulting Architects, Messrs. Sir Aston Webb and Ingress Bell (£325) $3,428.57.

Resumption of land for Golf Courses at Fan Ling.--When the new golf course was laid out at Fan Ling, some 220 irregular plots of cultivated land, totalling about 65 acres, which fell within its boundaries, were acquired by the Golf Club at an expenditure of $8,740.85 and further plots were subsequently added at a cost of $441.97, the total outlay amounting to $9,182.82.
