have been discovered to be in a most insanitary condition and this state of things cannot be improved until underground main channels are built

into which they

can lead their

sewerage by means of house drains.

At present the sewerage accumulates

on the premises until it

1. putrifies

and saturating the ground becomes an intolerable nuisance. The absence

of house drains invariably entails the emptying of slops and filth into the streets or the equally objectionable habit of keeping the sewerage

in open tubs which are

only emptied

once in 24 hours. Also it is necessary

to rectify

some

of the graver defects
