The expenditure of 1871, again, the best increase of £23,079 more than that of 1870. This is almost exactly
the annual excess of expenditure on Police, Police clothing, Compound & Reclamations,
A Salaries.
But one decrease in expenditure is a considerable item (£8,315) for lands purchased in 1870, as against £2841 in 71. Otherwise the result of the year's accounts show more increase of expenditure.
