Decrease

1,476 16 8

1. The revenue for the year 1849 amounted to 23,617l. 3s. 3d., and that for the preceding year to 25,091l. 19s. 11½d., including 194l. 16s. 7d., recovered by the Colonial Agent in England. The revenue collected is consequently 1,474l. 16s.d. less than that for 1848. This decrease arises from the under-mentioned items, as shown by the comparative statement for 1848 and 1849, at pages 30 and 31 of the Blue Book, namely:-
