My late despatches, No44 of the 25th Ultimo, has anticipated and rendered superfluous any lengthened observations in this place, on the climate and healthiness, the Revenue prospects, and the Trade of Hongkong. I shall, however, add whatever additional remarks now occur to me in looking over the compilation of the Colonial Blue Book.
With regard to the small amount of Land-rent collected in the last year, I may observe that hardly a lease was made. Of course scarcely any Rent was collected. The present year will, I confidently expect, present a great contrast on this point.
