(5) MR. JOSEPH CHAN YUEK-SUT, CHAIRMAN OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH SELECT COMMITTEE, moved as follows:
'Resolved that the Slaughterhouses (Urban Council) (Amendment) (No.2) Bylaw 1996 be made under section 77A(5) of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.'
He said (in Cantonese):—As Chairman of the Public Health Select Committee, I rise to move the motion standing in my name:
"The Slaughterhouses (Urban Council) (Amendment) (No. 2) Bylaw 1996 be made under section 77A(5) of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance, Cap. 132.'
On 7 May 1996, the Urban Council has determined the new fees for the examination of carcasses in private slaughterhouses under section 77A(1)(c) of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance, Cap. 132. The new fees will be effective on 1 July 1996 and will be published in the Gazette in a Government Notification for public information.
With the new fees so determined, the existing examination fees as prescribed in Schedule I to the Slaughterhouses (Urban Council) Bylaws shall cease to have effect. The amendment bylaw amends the relevant provisions in bylaw 6 and repeals Schedule 1 to the Slaughterhouses (Urban Council) Bylaws.
