(2) MR. KENNETH T. C. Lo, Chairman of the Museum and Art Gallery Select Committee, moved the following Motion:
"RESOLVED that the Museums (Urban Areas) By-laws 1971 be made under Section 5(1) of the Museums Ordinance 1971."
He said:-Mr. Chairman, I rise to move that the Museum (Urban Areas) By-laws, 1971 be made under Section 5(1) of the Museum Ordinance, 1971.
The purpose for these By-laws is to empower the Council to determine the opening times of museums, to prohibit the copying of exhibits and generally to ensure public order in museums.
The intentions of the By-laws are more fully explained in the explanatory note attached thereto.
