HONG KONG URBAN COUNCIL

MR. RAFEEK: —Mr. Chairman, I have pleasure in seconding.

MR. LI: -Sir, I beg to support the Motion for two reasons—one because I respect the decision of the Select Committee and secondly because I want to go home early (laughter).

CHAIRMAN: ----Any other Member wish to speak?

DR. BELL: Mr. Chairman, it's double Dutch I'm sorry, don't understand it can it be put into simple language?

MR. SALES: -Well, I suggest it would be far easier if Mr. Wilson WANG were invited to read his speech again.

CHAIRMAN: -The new Abattoirs By-laws, Dr. BELL, are required to operate the new abattoirs, and the other, Slaughterhouses (Amendment) By-laws, will make it clear that the existing By-laws do not apply to the new abattoirs; but there is a continuing need for the old slaughter-houses until both the new abattoirs come into operation. So we have a separate set of By-laws for the old slaughterhouses and a new set of By-laws for the new abattoirs.

MR. SALES: I move that question be put.

DR. BELL: -That has clarified it a little bit Mr. Chairman.

CHAIRMAN: -Thank you. The Motion has been moved and seconded. I'll now take a vote on the Motion.

The question was put.

The Motion was carried.

ADJOURNMENT · 7.35 P.M.

CHAIRMAN: ---That concludes the business of this meeting. Council stands adjourned until the 4th June, 1968 at 4 p.m.
