## POWERS

To exercise the powers and functions of the Council relating to the provision of recreation facilities; parks, playgrounds, bathing beaches; multi-storey car parks; temporary car parks; swimming pools (under the Swimming Pools By-laws (Cap. 132 [sub-leg]) and the Public Swimming Pool By-laws (Cap. 132 [sub-leg])); advertisements; and urban amenities generally, including recommendations for additional street lighting on amenity grounds, and to deal with the naming of new streets and the renaming of existing streets in the urban area.

To determine overall resettlement policies and the planning of future operations, including the exercise of the powers and functions of the Council as the Competent Authority under Part IV and Part V of the Resettlement Ordinance.

To exercise the powers and functions of the Council as a Competent Authority under Part IV and Part V of the Resettlement Ordinance and to:

(i) supervise and carry out the general administration of cottage resettlement areas.

(ii) make recommendations for the effective administration and control of the multi-storey resettlement estates.

To deal with Urban Council order and procedure and to consider any amendment of the Urban Council Ordinance and subsidiary legislation.
