As regards obtaining further public support for this type of campaign, may I make the following points. We already have the whole-hearted support of the Kaifong Welfare Associations, which are a tower of strength for us in such matters. The operations of the special squads which were formed earlier this year for the better cleansing of streets and lanes are bound to have an educative effect, apart from the refuse and obstructions which the squads remove. It is proposed to extend the range of the 2-man "Keep Your City Clean" squads to cover the remaining congested areas in particular Kowloon City and To Kwa Wan. The next "Miss Ping On" campaign which is being planned will be on the subject of "Anti-litter". Finally, I would urge all members of the public to bear in mind that at present it costs the Government about $4,000,000 a year to sweep up the litter from the streets. We could reduce this expenditure substantially if they would make full and proper use of dustbins and litterbins.
MR. CHEONG-LEEN:- Mr. Chairman, I can think of no better way to congratulate the department for its good work, and to show my support of the excellent work that is being done, than by refraining from asking any supplementary questions.
MR. SALES: Mr. Chairman, should that not have been put in the form of a supplementary question? Otherwise that would have been out of order.
CHAIRMAN: ---Sir, I am most grateful.
MR. CHEONG-LEEN:- The meaning is clear anyway.
MR. SALES: Does that mean that we are not going to have a Committee meeting of the Whole, because the only item on the agenda is Mr. CHEONG-LEEN'S, Mr. Chairman?
MR. CHEONG-LEEN: Is that not out of order, Mr. Chairman?
