POWERS
To make recommendations to Government for the naming of new streets and the renaming of existing streets in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Kowloon.
To exercise the powers and functions of the Council relating to parks; playgrounds; bathing beaches; multi-storey car parks; swimming pools (under the Swimming Pools By-laws and the Victoria Park Swimming Pool By-laws); advertisements; and urban amenities generally, including the putting forward of recommendations for additional street lighting on amenity grounds.
To advise the Council on matters affecting air conditioning in relation to public health and to put before the Council draft by-laws for the control of air conditioning plant.
Note:
The Chairman of this Select Committee proposes to present the report to the Standing Committee of the Whole Council at the May meeting and on the adoption of the report, it is expected that the Select Committee will be dissolved.
