I am directed to inform you that the Secretary of State has been told by the Governor of Hong Kong that you are willing to sell your collection of pictures to the Government
The Governor has of the Colony, for the sun of £1,000. appointed Dr. Sloss, formerly Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong, to be his agent in this matter and it is under- stood that Dr. Sloss will shortly be writing to you, or will be calling on you to discuss the question of paoking and despatching the pictures. Payment for the collection will be made in due course by the Crown Agents for the Colonies on behalf of the Governor,
