Added to the above, the establishment people both in the Crown Agents and here, cannot see their way to providing a suitable room and, if they were able to do so, they would not be allowed to let us put hooks into the walls to hang the pictures on. It is all very disappointing, but neither we, nor the Colonial Office-Crown Agents Art Club (whom we have consulted throughout) can see any way of overcoming these technical and administrative difficulties.

I am writing, as in the attached minute, to the Crown Agents, authorizing them to pay Sayer his £1,000. I also enclose a letter to Sayer on this point. I gather

I gather from Anderson that Sayer would like the money as soon as possible and we are trying to arrange this.
