Requisitioned railway materials: Kowloon

Canton Railway (British Section) claim.

Information regarding the S.S. "Haradsvang" is scanty. It is known that this ship, flying the Norwegian flag, was scuttled in Kowloon Bay on 11th December 1941. The Bank Line (China) Limited, were agents for the vessel at that time and, so far as they have been able to recall, believe that it carried about 4,000 tons of rails and, possibly, sleepers when it was sunk. It must have been raised by the Japanese because it was not among the wrecks in the harbour in September 1945.
