LT. COL. SEYMOUR, O. B. E.,

WAR OFFICE,

INSPECTOR OF LANDS,

NUFFIELD HOUSE,

PICADDILLY.

For Ine danclough's signature

Dear Seymour,

14 March 1950

Will you please refer to Hall's

(13) on-/49 letter of 5th January 1950 about claims

arising from the requisitioning of

railway materials in Hong Kong in 1941.

that in connection with the point at

issue between the war office and Hong

Kong relating to work done on 600

rallway wagons we proposed to contact

Lt. Col. Walker who was manager of the

railway in 1941. This has now been

copies of Hall's letter to

Col. Walker and of Col. Walker's reply.

emphatically in favour of Hong Kong's

view as to the amount of work done on

the wagons. Whilst we realise that we

cannot claim Col. Walker's recollections

as evidence in the strict sense we do

feel that they add considerable weight

to the view on the matter which Hong Kong

has wondentity expressed and we hope

that
