UNITED KINGDOM REPRESENTATIVE
TO THE RERBLIC OF IRELAND
50, UPPER MOUNT STREET,
DUBLIN.
12th January, 1950.

Dear Bill,
I enclose a copy of a letter from Mr. M. P. Rodgers, together with a number of enclosures in original, regarding his claim to compensation for losses in Hong Kong.
Although the Board of Trade replies are definite enough, it seems possible that they may have overlooked the fact that Mr. Rodgers was a member of the Colonial Police Service. Whether that makes any difference to his claim I do not know, but it might be worth asking the Colonial Office for their comments on this case.
I have promised Mr. Rodgers that he will get the enclosures back in due course.
Yours ever,
(Sgd.) Eric Norris
