May I respectfully refer to your letter dated the 2nd July 1947, reference as above, which was written on the direction of r Secretary Creech Jones with reference to my claim for compensation in respect of losses incurred in Hong Kong whilst a prisoner of war there, amounting to £597. 16. O., my claim for which you

£597.16. stated had already been registered with the Poard of Trade, and to enquire, after all this lapse of time, what is the present position in regard thereto and when I might expect to hear something definite as to when I am likely to receive compensation for my losses.

I feel sure you will agree that a ter

a further three years have elapsed since last you wrote me concerning this matter, I am at least entitled to know what progress has been made with regard to arriving at a settlement of this.

Yours faithfully,.
