Dear Stephen,

I enclose correspondence about Mr. B.L. Kaploon formerly of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps.

The question of whether Mr. Kaploon could receive compensation on the ground that he was a member of the Hong Kong garrison seems to be for War Office to answer.

Mr. Kaploon's number in the Corps was 3186. He was brought to this country by the military authorities on the re-occupation and has been here ever since.

D.R.J. Stephen, Esq.,

War Office

Yours sincerely,

D.J. Kirkness

Private secretary
