Dear Mr. Archer,

I am very sorry that I have not written to you before now about the disposal of a grant of land made to your Company in Hong Kong this land being New Kowloon Inland Lot No. 3556, located at Yau Tong Bay. Most unfortunately the original draft of a letter to your Company was delayed owing to the absence of our legal adviser.

we have heard from Hong Kong that owing to circumstance s beyond their control your Company have reluctantly decided that they are unable to develop this site and have applied through their Hong Kong Manager for permission either to ⚫ assign the lease of the property, or to terminate it without forfeiture of the premium, The reasons for this decision are fully appreciated both here and in Hong Kong and, since your local manager has now left, the Governor has asked us to inform you of the following:-

(1)

The Governor is advised that since the conditions of sale have not been fulfilled no Crown lease exists.

(ii) An assignment of the conditions of sale is impracti-

cable, since they were designed especially to meet your Company's require ents.

G. Archer, Esq.
