Via airmail,
Dear Hall,
153
DISTRICT OFFICE, NEW TERRITORIES,
KOWLOON MAGISTRACY BUILDING.
Hongkong.
1st December, 1950.
SCHEME FOR COMPOST FACTORY IN HONGKONG.
There's a despatch going (or gone) to you about this, invoking assistance from the Colonial Development & Welfare Fund. I understand that it ends up with a request that an expert, Mr. Brunt, be sent on a two-month visit to Hongkong, and that our Colonial Secretary is writing privately to Mr. Sidebotham to ask for this expert as soon as possible.
This is to ask you to do what you can to get Mr.Brunt here as quickly as possible, without waiting for the full turn of the wheel on the C.D. & W. aspect.
With best wishes,
Yours sincerely, (John Barrow), District Commissioner, New Territories, Hongkong.
