Fertiliser factory.
Mr. L.P. Brunt has now completed his examination of the proposed site and of local conditions affecting the establishment of a compost factory. He has presented a preliminary report and has now returned to England with instructions to draw up full estimates of the cost of the scheme.

For his first month in London he will be paid by this Government through the Crown Agents at the same rate as during his stay in Hong Kong (see my telegram 292 of 15th March) but as I do not expect him to be able to complete the estimates in this time, it will be necessary to make arrangements for his subsequent payment. These will probably have to be made through whichever firm of consulting engineers he next attaches himself to. has suggested that in this case payments should be based on the practice of the Association of Consulting Engineers.
Grateful if you would contact him (36 Park Road, Chiswick W. 4) with the suggestion that future correspondence between him and this Government should be passed through you.
I am anxious to obtain full estimates of the scheme as soon as possible.
