It is evident it will be useless to continue negotiations with Brunt. I therefore wish to terminate his services. I do not know exactly what payment arrangements you made with him as a result of paragraph 2 of my telegram 25 No. 790, but if it is possible to terminate his services forthwith, I suggest this be done. In this Government's letter to him of 19th June, we undertook to pay him for one month and to
communicate with Colonial Office in regard to any future arrangements which may necessary for completion of this scheme".
