I have the honour to request your
approval of the grant of an area of 25,000 sq. ft. of land at Shek 0 Village on the Island of Hong Kong to the Sheko Inhabitant's Association for the purpose of erecting a village school and playground on the following terms:-
(1) Private treaty grant.
(2)
Lease for 75 years
(3) Premium nil
(4)
Normal Crown rent of $460.00 per annum at the rate of $800.00 per
acre.
(5) Building covenant of $60,000
(6)
Restriction on the use of 15,000 sq. ft. as a school, and on 10,000 sq. ft. as a playground.
(7)
Restriction against alienation ex- cept with the consent of the Governor.

Reversion to the Crown without com-

pensation for any breach of the con- ditions of the grant.
The existing school building is out of date and totally inadequate for the education of approximat- ely 100 children living at Shek 0 village. An As- sociation of the inhabitants of the village has
collected $60,000 for this purpose and I consider that your approval may properly be given. Executive Council has agreed.
