Dear Hall,
(12) '49 In reply to your letter of 27th January (54337/50), you will be
on
aware that the Admiralty agreed to bear the cost of craft supplied for the reinforcement of Hong Kong. This is shown clearly in the correspondence you sent me and, in fact, we have long ago written these craft off.
2. We are therefore content to let you settle this matter.
