(b) Workers and employees who are absent from work

and are receiving medical treatment owing to illness or injury not arising out of work shall be paid by the administrative side or the employer 50% 100% of their wages according to their length of service if the period of absence does not exceed three months. If their medical treat- ment exceeds three months at a time, a monthly relief allowance for illness or injury not arising out of work shall be substituted amounting to 20% - 30% of original wages and shall be paid until recovery and return to work or until disablement or death results. Details are to be provided in supplementary regulations.

(c) Workers and employees who are disabled and have completely lost their capacity for work and who are compelled to retire owing to sickness or injuries not arising out of work shall be paid a monthly relief allowance from labour insurance funds amounting to 20% - 30% of original wages, according to their length of service. Such al- lowances shall be paid until death, but shall not be granted where the retired workers have other sources of income to maintain themselves. Details are provided in supplementary regulations.

(d) Dependants of workers and employees shell receive

free medical attention at hospitals or clinics operated or appointed by the enterprise, and shall enjoy a 50% reduction for ordinary medi- cines. Expensive medicines, charges for treatment at hospital, and board during treatment shall be paid in full by the patient.

Article 14. Grants for funeral expenses and subsidies and relief gratuities for dependants shall be as follows.

(a) When workers and employees lose their lives as

a result of their work, a grant for funeral ex- penses shall be made by the administrative side of the enterprise or the employer amounting to two months' average per capita wages in the enterprise. Dependants of the deceased shall be paid a monthly maintenance subsidy from labour insurance funds amounting to 25% - 50% of his original wages. Such subsidy shall be paid until the dependants lose their qualifications for this benefit. Details are to be provided in supplementary regulations.

(b) When workers and employees lose their lives

owing to illness or injuries not arising out of work, a grant for funeral expenses shall be paid from labour insurance funds amounting to one month's average per capita wages in the enterprise. A relief gratuity shall be paid to the dependants of the deceased from labour in- surance funds amounting to 3 12 months' wages according to length of service. Details are to be provided in supplementary regulations.

(c) I workers and employees die within a year of

retirement after they have lost completely their capacity for work owing to injury and disablement
