It is recommended that at the Sai Ying Pun Hospital a building be erected to contain:-
17.
(a) Cubicles for the examination of patients
(b) Demonstration Room in which students may present their cases
(c) A Laboratory in which Urine analyses, etc. may be carried out.
PHYSIOLOGY/PATHOLOGY LECTURE THEATRE
The present lecture theatre is too small as it holds less than half the students taking Physiology. The Anatomy Lecture Theatre is being used by the Pathology Department for any teaching which requires the projection of slides. This is both too small and inconvenient. The need could be met by the provision of this lecture theatre suggested by the Physiology Department.
The proposed building may also house an Anatomy Museum and a Pathology Museum, thus releasing space for storage in the Pathology Building.
It is recommended that a new building be erected on the site of the present West Gate Lodge to contain a lecture theatre, projection room, automatic black-out and possibly air conditioning.
18. PHYSIOLOGY LABORATO RIES
The upper floor of the school is divided into two laboratorics, one designed for practical Physiology, and the other for practical Biochemistry.
Neither room is large enough to accommodate 70 students.
It is recommended that an existing dividing wall between the two laboratories be knocked down to provide a large laboratory which would be satisfactory for all procedures. This would entail re-equipment of the whole area to give one good laboratory.

DEPARTMENT OF ANATOMY
The Department of Anatomy was designed for much smaller dasses than are being taught at present. This necessitates the use of the Physiology Laboratory on two to four afternoons a week for the teaching of Histology. See II.ii 17 above.
