if you could let me know whether a meeting with Mr. Paskin would be possible say on the afternoon of Thursday, 16th at about 3 p.m. If this suited Mr. Paskin I would find out whether Sir Christopher Cox would be free to come to this meeting or would be free to see Mouat Jones at some other time on the same day.

Mouat Jones has seen the appropriate papers such as the "Cox" Committee report, the applications for a C.D. & W. grant and various reports on or from the University itself. He has also, of course, 2 seen your letter of the 23rd December, 1949,

49 about the importance which is attached by the

Secretary of State to this visit. The purpose of the meeting with Paskin would therefore be to learn the general background of the present situation of the University and any political points which he thought the visitors should have in mind.

Yours sincerely,

Ward Cuan

(Walter Adams)

Secretary
