Dear Sidebotham,

Inter-University Council Visit to
University of Hong Kong.
As I informed you by telephone, the Inter-University Council has invited Dr. Mouat Jones, formerly the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds, and myself to undertake the visit to the University of Hong Kong during this Easter vacation. We are booked to leave by air on the 28th March and subject to the plans of the University itself, expect to spend about two weeks in Hong Kong and to return via Singapore stopping off there for a few days.
I have cabled and written privately to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong to inform him of the proposed dates of the visit. I do not know whether from
preceding official letters and cables you think any notification ought to go from the Colonial Office to the Hong Kong Government.
Dr. Mouat Jones and I would welcome an opportunity of a brief discussion with Mr. Paskin when Dr. Mouat Jones is next in London which would be the 15th or 16th March (I understand that you yourself will be away on leave then). I should be grateful
J.B. Sidebotham, Esq.
