1949, conveying the views of Mr. Secretary Cree ch Jones on the question of continue d support for the University of Hong Kong.

The report of the Inter-University Council visitors to the University of Hong Kong has now been submitted to the Executive Committee of the Inter-University Council (3 copies X enclosed) and has been endorsed and approved by the Committee on behalf of the Council. The Committee hopes that action will be taken as quickly as possible on the recommendations contained in the report.

The Committee would be grateful if the question of assistance from the Colonial Development and Welfare higher education allocation, as recommended in the report, could be referred to the Colonial University Grants Advisory Committee at its next meeting on

the 9th June.
